Principal

I was raised in the Catholic Church and am the second to the oldest of fourteen children. Prayer was a part of our family life.  I remember my mother prayed with us every night before going to bed.   We were all baptized as infants and confirmed and attended Catholic elementary schools. This was not easy, but my parents managed this because it was important to them. I attended twelve years of Catholic School education.

In May, 2013 my husband was ordained as a deacon in the Diocese of Lansing. It has been a special privilege in my life to watch my husband grow in God’s love and faith and to work beside him with members of Christ’s church on earth. We are members of St. Thomas the Apostle in Ann Arbor where I serve as a Eucharistic Minister, reader and ten year choir member.

I received under-graduate and graduate degrees at the University of California, Berkeley and worked as a teacher in New England and in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 2011, I completed a Master degree in Education Administration for K-12 at Eastern Michigan University.

I was first employed as a principal of a Spiritus Sanctus Academy by the Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist beginning in 2001. I learned from these Dominicans that the goal of Catholic school is to educate the whole child. My experience further taught me that Catholic schools teach young children about God and encourage their encounter and relationship with Him. In 2004, I was hired as the principal at Holy Spirit Catholic School.

It has been a great joy for me to watch this school grow and to see the witness of so many families’ faith as a new school building was conceived and built. Holy Spirit Catholic School strives to educate the minds, bodies and souls of our students through faith and academics. We are committed to educating children in partnership with their families.  Our objective is to guide children’s growth in an educational environment in which practicing the truths of the Catholic faith are central to the development of each child. Our mission is to provide opportunities and to encourage each individual child to encounter God.
