Ms. Gwenis Laura is blessed and inspired to be part of the Holy Spirit community as principal of Holy Spirit Catholic School with 20 years of administrative experience. Ms. Laura graduated from St. Francis University in Loretto, PA with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She obtained a Master’s Degree in the Art of Classroom Teaching from the University of Michigan and Education Specialist Degree in School Administration from Oakland University. Prior to her current position, Ms. Laura served as the Executive Director of Goethe International Charter School in Los Angeles, CA and has held numerous administrative positions to include, Assistant Principal, Principal, Director, Assistant Superintendent and Executive Director. Ms. Laura’s approach as an educator and administrator is to plan creatively, work devoutly and collaborate steadily to meet the spiritual, mental and physical needs of each student.
Mrs. Calleja was born and raised in Michigan. Her husband Keith and she reside in Milford, MI with their son, Carter, their chocolate Labrador Retriever, Maci. Their daughter Emily lives in Atlanta, GA. Their home parish is St. Mary’s in Milford. There, Keith and Kristen teach RCIA classes together. In addition, Kristen serves as a lector, an instructor for Soul Core, a core strengthening exercise done while praying the rosary. She enjoys sewing, motorcycles, and baking.
